The standard sample collection method for SARS-CoV-2 testing, NPOP swabs, can be uncomfortable for patients. BioSaliva offers a non-invasive alternative for collecting samples by gargling for COVID-19 and respiratory pathogen testing, providing a more comfortable experience.

Storage Conditions
Store the kit at room temperature with a period of validity of 12 months. The Gargle collection kit can preserve RNA for 30 days at room temperature, -20°C, and -80°C after sample collection.
Warning and Attention
At least 1 hour before specimen collection, patients are advised not to eat, drink, smoke, gargle, or brush their teeth.

Product Details
BioSaliva is certified by the Ministry of Health (KEMENKES AKD 10302120673) and is designed to efficiently collect the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the oropharyngeal area without causing discomfort to patients. It has been validated to perform comparably to NPOP swabs, achieving a sensitivity of 91.38% when used with the mBioCoV-19 qRT-PCR kit (Utama et al., 2022).
Procedures
Store the reagents at (20oC - 25oC) upon delivery.
- Take out the Gargle Solution and transfer it to your mouth (Do not swallow).
- Gargle the solution in your throat while tilting your head backward for 10-15 seconds. Hold the solution in your mouth for 3-5 seconds.
- Repeat the above steps 3 times, then spit the solution into the tube using the provided funnel.
- Add the Collection Buffer to the spit solution and mix well by shaking.

Is the gargle solution in BioSaliva safe if swallowed?
Yes, the gargle solution is safe if swallowed. Do not swallow the gargle solution intentionally. Meanwhile, the collection buffer should not be swallowed.
If some of the BioSaliva gargle liquid is accidentally wasted or swallowed, will it affect the analysis?
We designed a PCR process using BioSaliva by adding a DNA/RNA extraction method before entering the PCR machine. This extraction step is very important because it can reduce the impact of dilution factors due to insufficient sample size.
